Custom Software
Through the years, CRRS has designed and developed custom software to help radiologists and teleradiology facilities optimize the practice of teleradiology. Some of these are currently patent-pending. In recognition of today’s shrinking radiology reimbursements and the resulting need for our colleagues in teleradiology to be very mindful of capital expenditures, we provide teleradiology companies and teleradiologists access to our software through an inexpensive application service provider (ASP) hosting arrangements. We currently host multiple teleradiology companies and teleradiologists on our ASP servers. Let us know if you are interested in an ASP arrangement by emailing us at info@crrservices.com . You can also visit www.medimagingtools.com and download manuals for the software. Some of the software is available on a trial basis at this website as well.
Selected software applications available from CRRS:
- DICOM Faxadder: allows the incorporation of non-digital paper-based information directly into the DICOM examination via a
regular fax machine, enhancing radiologist workflow, imaging interpretation, and its speed, maximizing the radiologist’s time, and reducing PACS administrator interventions. http://www.jerichosi.com/d_files/healthimaging.pdf; http://www.jerichosi.com/d_files/auntminnie.pdf;
- AutosendVideo: An AVI and non-DICOM picture format conversion utility that makes all modalities DICOM compatible, including CINE and non-DICOM ultrasound units. AutosendVideo is an application that reads Video Streams or Image files from a watched folder, converts them to DICOM
format and sends them to a DICOM Server. Supported formats are: AVI, JPEG, and Bitmap. If the filename is in the form: PatientName_StudyDateStudyTime, the program can use this data for the DICOM conversion. Also it can use a text file to gather DICOM information from it.
- DICOM Proxy: an application that allows the full use and management of the information fields in DICOM headers on the fly, so that these fields can be employed for routing examinations to other DICOM servers or workstations.
- Preliminary report generator: This universal application runs side by side with any DICOM/PACS server and provides a mechanism for faxing a preliminary report to either/both the originating facility of a teleradiology examination or the referring physicians office. The application also automatically attaches the preliminary report to the examination as both a DICOM structured report as well as an additional DICOM series within the actual examination. A configuration file must be first defined containing the fax numbers for the facility and/or referring physician. Alternatively, this information can be obtained the DICOM tags of the examination if present. Requires Faxadder to be running concurrently.
